Our Story

The vision for SEEN ministries was born out of serving as an advocate, social worker, and counselor for the most vulnerable children of Harrison County Indiana and, most importantly, led by the Holy Spirit.

Our county has a severe shortage of foster homes. When children are removed from their homes by our local DCS office due to abuse and neglect, it is often a challenge to find placement for these precious ones. Usually if there is not a family member to take the child, they are moved out of our county. This only adds to their trauma by taking them away from their schools and friends which are sometimes the only consistency they have had in their troubled lives.

The goal of SEEN is to provide loving, Christian homes where these children can be supported, encouraged, edified, and nurtured through loving house parents and a dedicated community.

We have started this endeavor from ground zero by lots of prayer, research, collaboration with other faith based children’s homes, and the formation of our board of directors.

Our next steps are to complete architectural plans for our first house, secure property, continue to work with DCS to meet
licensing requirements, and continue to raise awareness and gain community support for the invisible and innocent children of Harrison County.
